Marchal Shaka - The Artist

Marchal Shaka is an artist originating from the southern suburbs of Paris. Shaka is a technical artist with a portfolio exhibiting his forte in painting, graffiti, sculpture and tattooing.

His three dimensional statuette paintings are the strength and focal point of this work. The theory stemmed from the interactivity and movement of the spectator in a literal space challenging the reality of physical matter and boundless dimensions

1st Solo Exhibition of Noemie Goudal at the Hotshoe Gallery

On Friday 15th October NONverbal Art attended the first solo exhibition of Noemie Goudal at the Hotshoe Gallery entitled 'Les Amants' interpreted as 'The Lovers'

Her work is an emphasis of a 'pairing', embracing the tug-of-war or a disconnect of the natural occurrence of our worldly relationships replicating the ying and yang philosophy; for example fiction and reality

The portraits are described as part-real, part artificial scenes

So the part that is artificial is when you look at the photo inside you see a picture, which in fact has been enlarged on a wider scale and fragmented, with each segment having been re-assembled like a puzzle to form a life size representation of the initial picture

This backdrop (the puzzle) is then draped or hung in an environment created as a scenic extension to the original image, to make you believe there is only one reflection; this is the part that is real. The image being shown is called: Promenade

To quote an advocate attending the exhibition 'this is the new generation of photgraphy'

On the hand Noemie works with a large format camera, where you go underneath the black cloth (like an old studio camera)

The endearing part is Noemie is such a sweet, demure woman. Widely supported by her family, friends and peers who made her private viewing unforgettable; it was an amazing turnout at the Hotshoe Gallery

Her concepts are contemporary and progressive and there is fortitude and magnetism in the work of Noemie Goudal
